Christmas gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us - a time when we can look back on the year that has passed and prepare for the year ahead.

2012 has been a challenging year for us all, a mix of trials and tribulations in the country; especially, we in the Jamaica Labour Party, but as usual our strength, unity, fortitude and God's, unending grace took us through; We ended the year on a very high note, with the successful staging of our Central Executive and elections of officers.

However, as Jamaicans, we showed the world what our true Jamaican determination and spirit can achieve and what we are made of; with spectacular Olympic and Paralympics’ victories in London, United Kingdom.

As we celebrate this Yuletide season, let us remember our friends and neighbors who just don't have enough. Let us also remember the suffering victims of hurricane Sandy both here and aboard. Share with someone this season, let the joy bells ring for them too!
Hug your children, and give a prayer this season for the suffering children and their parents who are hurting. Let the peace of the season be on you and joy of Christ's birth dwell within your heart!
