NWC Inept, Uncaring & Unresponsive - Robinson

Jamaica Labour Party M.P. Shahine Robinson today lambasted the management of the National Water Commission for being inept, uncaring and unresponsive in addressing her constituent’s unmet need for water.

Mrs. Robinson passionately said “The dry water pipes and unfilled storage drums of thousands of households in North East St Ann tell the people’s stories. My team and I have repeatedly called, written, emailed and generally harassed local, regional and central management but have gotten no relief for the thousands of households across the constituency.”

“There is no schedule for trucking water to the residents, we have no idea when regular water supply will resume or when emergency supplies will be properly activated, and while I am making every effort as MP, the State has refused to respond adequately.  I really find the  level of disregard being shown to the people of St Ann to be absolutely unacceptable.”

The Member of Parliament, clearly concerned at the condition of her constituents, stated that up to press time, she continued to receive daily calls of distress from her constituents, and despite every effort, had had no contact from the NWC since the afternoon of Friday 4th.

The N.E. St Ann MP is calling urgently for the NWC to provide water for the communities of  Exchange, Pimento Walk to Hill Top, Mamee Bay, Warrick Mount, Seville Heights and sections of Steer Town.
