Opposition spokesman on Land and Environment, Senator Alexander Williams is recognizing World Environment Day, described as the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness of the need of countries to protect the environment.

“We need, as a nation to consume our environment with care”, he said; “and this is the day where we must do something positive to preserve it”.

Opposition Spokesman on the Environment, Dr. Andrew Wheatley, is today calling for the dismissal of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority’s (NRCA) board of directors following an announcement that they granted approval for two highly controversial off-shore breakwaters to be built in the Long Bay area of Negril, Westmoreland.
