General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party, Dr Horace Chang said today that the People’s National Party's three years in office has been a period of "Pain N Punishment".

Dr. Chang stated, "Almost everybody is suffering under this PNP regime. They have been dishonest, arrogant and uncaring. They don't know how to grow the economy or how to balance the people's lives. He added, “They have failed the people's test and are implementing a programme of balancing the books but not people’s lives. They are a total failure in creating a framework for growth and development. Only the Jamaica Labour Party has had this as a core policy, which is the only route to generate jobs, increase prosperity and the quality of people’s lives.”

Dr.  Chang also asserted that the Prime Minister campaigned on a promise of delivering jobs, honesty and increased transparency, "but we have seen none of those. The Prime Minister refuses to talk to the people and many government projects reek of the scent of corruption while no one is held accountable".

The Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary added, "We have seen two polls this year that show that the people have recognized the People’s National Party as probably the worst government since FINSAC’s destruction of the economy in the 1990s, and the single achievement they can boast of, which is a reduction in murders, is as a result of the crime plan they inherited from the Jamaica Labour Party government".

Dr. Chang concluded that the PNP should be ashamed of commemorating three years in office as their commemoration is actually a celebration of failure, incompetence, arrogance and corruption. "When in opposition, the Prime Minister did speak about being Jamaica's worst nightmare, and it seems that promise has come to pass".
