Opposition Spokesman on Agriculture Remembers Minister Clarke

Opposition Spokesman on Agriculture, Mr. William JC Hutchinson, is expressing regret and sadness at news of the passing of Agriculture Minister, Roger Clarke, in the United States earlier today.

Mr. Hucthinson says: "With Roger's passing, Jamaica has lost one of its finest sons.  Roger Clarke was a champion of the agricultural sector and contributed significantly to its development, both as Minister and as a farmer in his own right."

"It was a pleasure working with Roger over the years.  While we had differing views on a number of issues, we always enjoyed a good working relationship."

Mr. Hutchinson went on to say that Minister Clarke was one of those persons who was always approachable and solutions oriented.  Mr. Hutchinson said: "Roger has made a significant contribution to the Jamaican political process, and his love for the Jamaican people could never be questioned.  I want to express my sincere condolences to his dear wife, other members of the Clarke family, his friends and his colleagues on both sides of the House."
