JLP Saddened by Attack on Meeting ... Writes to PNP and Ombudsman

Opposition Leader Andrew Holness is tonight expressing shock and heartfelt sadness at the tragic death of three supporters and the injury of two others at the official launch of the Jamaica Labour Party’s campaign in Sam Sharpe Square in St. James.

“Tonight my heart is heavy, I am terribly saddened by tonight’s unspeakable incident and my sympathy goes out to the families of those who lost their lives and my prayers are with those who were injured,” Mr. Holness said.

The Jamaica Labour Party Leader in condemning the barefaced and heartless attack on the democratic process by the perpetrators says they not only took three lives and injured two others, but they endangered the lives of tens of thousands of Jamaicans.

JLP General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang has written to the Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown, PNP General Secretary Paul Burke and the Police Commissioner requesting an urgent meeting.
