The Honourable L. Michael Henry was sworn in as Minister of Transport and Works on Friday September 14, 2007, after the Jamaica Labour Party’s successful contesting of General Elections on September 3, 2007. He has been the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate for Central Clarendon since 1976 and MP for that area since 1980. He had also served as a Minister of State for Information and Minister of Tourism and Agriculture.

Mr. Henry’s civic career includes membership of the, Kiwanis Club, Jamaica Library Service Board, Board of the Institute of Jamaica, Kingston Cricket Club and the Jamaica Motoring Club. He was educated at the St. Catherine Elementary School, Beckford & Smith and Ealing Technical College (U.K.) and is an author/ Publisher by profession. He has been the Chairman of Kingston Publishers Limited since 1980.

Minister Henry is married and has four children.
