Delano Seiveright and members of the Jamaica Labour Party’s St. Thomas Eastern Campaign Management Team this morning filed a report with the Morant Bay Police following a major stand-off between supporters of the JLP and the PNP in the vicinity of the JLP’s Constituency office in Port Morant yesterday.

Campaign Spokesperson for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Kamina Johnson Smith, is today advising that the Party’s caretaker for North Central St. Catherine, Peter Abrahams, has resigned.  Mrs. Johnson Smith says Mr. Abrahams cited personal reasons in submitting his resignation to the Party’s General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang.

Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, Mr. Edmund Bartlett, says he finds worrying, a report by one of the daily newspapers that the Government of Jamaica was unaware of Tuesday's release of the Jamaican who had been languishing in a Qatari prison some 24 hours after the fact despite the prominence and public interest that have surrounded the case.
